The volume of steel production in China increased at the end of April

The daily steel production in China continued to grow in the last ten days of April due to strong demand from consumers, engineering, oil refineries, while tonnage increased by another 58 400 tons per day, or by 2.1%, from April 11-20 to 2.8 million tonnes per day, or a new high since mid-September 2019, was shown by a Mysteel poll of 247 blast furnace and 71 electric arc steel producers.
Since early March, these steel mills have been steadily increasing their steel output, marking a gradual rebound in steel demand as most industries returned to normal operations and the traditional peak of the steel consumption season on summer days. However, steel production was still 3% lower.
