Local media reported that the Pueblo County Health and Environment Department has confirmed an active COVID-19 outbreak at the EVRAZ /Rocky Mountain Steel Mill.
EVRAZ reported the outbreak to health officials on 18 September. According to EVRAZ North America, three employees of the railway plant have contracted the virus and are no longer working while they recover. Through contact tracing, EVRAZ has identified other employees who may have been in contact with the three confirmed cases. However, none of them show symptoms of the virus.
EVRAZ has taken steps to mitigate the spread of the virus, including disinfecting parts of the facility that may have been in contact with three confirmed cases. The railway plant is currently shut down for two weeks.
