Ukrzaliznytsia does not plan to increase tariffs for passenger transportation until the end of the first quarter of 2021, said Alexander Pertsovsky, director of the Passenger Company UZ branch, at a briefing in Kiev. “No increases are planned this year, until the first quarter of next year. We are now in discussion and are considering the option that from the second half of next year, from the second quarter, a certain indexation of prices for passenger transportation is possible, ”Pertsovsky said.
He added that there is no final decision on tariffs for next year. According to him, the company will also reduce the cost of tickets for seats in first-class carriages of high-speed trains of the Intercity class by almost 15% starting November 1, so that, as he put it, “not to carry air”. Ukrzaliznytsia is the national carrier of goods and passengers.
The goal of the company, as stated on its website, “is to meet the needs for safe and high-quality rail transport, ensure the efficient functioning and development of rail transport, create conditions for increasing the competitiveness of the industry, etc.”
