Kryvyi Rih, December 13, 2019 From 2020, Mauro Longobardo, who previously headed ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Jubail, will become the new CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. The current CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS, Paramjit Kalon, will work until the end of 2019, after which he will leave the Group. The corporation warmly thanked Mr. Kalon for his contribution to the development of the company over the past 11 years of work, and wished him further success in his career. Under him, the investment program of the Ukrainian enterprise was significantly expanded, a number of key projects were implemented, without which it is already impossible to imagine a mining and metallurgical plant in Krivoy Rog. These are the pulverized coal installation for the DP-9, the modernization of the DP-6, the renewed complex of coke oven batteries No. 5 and 6, the continuous casting machine built from scratch, the technical re-equipment of the mining and processing plant, the reconstruction of the 250-4 small-section mill and many other projects. It was with the active participation of Mr. Paramzhit Kalon that the pace of production modernization significantly accelerated, the volumes of capital and operating expenses of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih significantly increased. In his today’s address to the staff of the enterprise, Mr. Paramjit Kalon said: “It was an honor for me to be your leader as the CEO of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih for more than five years and CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS for almost four years.” Mr. Kalon also introduced his successor to the team – Vijay Goyal, vice president of the corporation, who will take the post of CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS (Kazakhstan, Ukraine). Mr. Goyal is an experienced professional with over 20 years of experience in various roles within the Group. In 2019, he was involved in strategic projects for the corporation. Subordinate to Vijay Goyal will be Mauro Longobardo, who will be officially appointed General Director of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih from January 1, 2020. Mr. Longobardo has a long track record. In particular, from 2002 to 2006. he worked for Tenaris (Italy) in the areas of quality, technology and new product development. Then he moved to Argentina – provided control of various production facilities at a local enterprise. In 2010, he was transferred to Dubai as Director of International Oilfield Pipe Sales Coordination. He also worked as a commercial director and regional manager for several promising countries in the Middle East (Iraq, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan). 2013 to 2015 Mr. Longobardo worked at the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) as Deputy General Director for Strategy, Technology and Development. After that, he moved to Interpipe, becoming the Deputy General Director for Production in Ukraine. In February 2018, he joined the Group as CEO of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Jubail. Mr. Longobardo studied materials science at the Technical University of Milan (Italy). He graduated cum laude from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston. He also completed an accelerated master’s program at the University of Argentina’s School of Management and Business (Buenos Aires).
