Kryvyi Rih, September 8, 2021 In January-August 2021, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih transferred almost 9.3 billion UAH taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels times the total amount of tax payments for the same period last year. This amount can be compared with the total payment of salaries to Ukrainian teachers for a year and a half or with the state’s expenses for the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19 this year. Of the total amount of taxes and fees, 5,100,000,000 UAH went to the state budget and 1,200,000,000 UAH – to local budgets. The company transferred 735 million UAH as a unified social contribution and UAH 2.3 billion as value added tax on the import of raw materials and materials. The main increase in payments for 8 months of 2021 is provided by income tax (UAH 37 billion) and rent for the extraction of iron ore (UAH 515 million). Payments by ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih to local budgets also increased. Here the main driver of growth was the land tax – an increase in 8 months is 236 million UAH. In addition, payments from the wage fund have significantly increased: income tax – plus UAH 66 million, a single social contribution – plus UAH 35 million compared to the same period last year. This was a consequence of the increase in wages in May and the payment of an additional bonus to all employees for the birthday of the enterprise in August 2021. Sergey Plichko, Chief Financial Officer of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih – We have significantly increased our tax deductions compared to the last crisis year, which was facilitated by the favorable situation in the global steel and iron ore markets in the first half of 2021. We are ready to continue to work at the maximum opportunities that the market provides today in order to ensure a stable flow of foreign exchange earnings into the country and payment of taxes and fees to the state and local communities in full. Help For almost 16 years of ArcelorMittal’s operation in Ukraine, the company has paid UAH 85 billion in taxes and fees, including UAH 21.4 billion – income tax, almost UAH 20 billion – payroll taxes, UAH 2.4 billion – environmental tax, 4700000000 UAH – payment for land, 2800000000 UAH – rent, 1.9 billion UAH – tax on repatriation, as well as 31500000000 UAH – VAT on imports and 0300000000 UAH – other taxes and fees.
