At the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, the installation of the aspiration system for the tail parts of sintering machines No. 7-9 is being completed as part of the reconstruction of the sinter plant. As a cleaning apparatus, a bag filter will be put into operation (technology of Termokimik Corporation, Italy), the launch of which is scheduled for the end of October. This will significantly reduce fugitive emissions in the tail section of aglokorpus №2.
By the end of March 2019, Italian cyclones HURRICLONE will be consistently commissioned in the cooling zones of sintering machines No. 10-12. Thus, the reconstruction of the first stage of gas cleaning at the sintering plant, where the main part of the dust is captured, will be completed.
Two of the eight complexes of bag filters with desulfurization (the second stage of gas cleaning) are installed in the sintering and cooling zones of sintering machines №№ 7-9. Here, the filter elements after cyclones perform fine purification.
The launch of the remaining complexes of bag filters with desulfurization and tail filters is scheduled for 2019-2020.
General Director of the Ilyich Taras Shevchenko CMI:
– The reconstruction of the sinter plant will allow by the end of 2020 to reduce dust emissions by 90%, sulfur oxides – by 43%. Considering that the sinter production accounts for two thirds of the plant’s emissions, we have concentrated here the main investments. During the three years of the active phase of reconstruction, we passed the equator of the project, and in the next two we plan to complete it completely. The same applies to other environmental modernization projects. We will fulfill in time all our obligations to the community of Mariupol.
