ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih will install new crushing lines

( DF).

The second section of the DF is used to receive and process ore from open pit No. 2-bis (the first section is used for ore from open pit No. 3). The second section includes a medium and fine crushing building, which currently has five processing lines. Two lines of medium crushing (from 0-350 mm to 0-75) mm and three lines of fine crushing (from 0-75 to 0-16 mm). Each of them includes a feeder conveyor, a cone crusher and a test screen.

The project provides for the installation of two more new lines, which will balance production on both sides of the body with conveyors (see infographic). There will be an opportunity to create a reserve of production capacities, to carry out scheduled and overhaul repairs of all lines, to exclude losses in production during unplanned downtime of equipment. In addition, the quality of products will increase due to a decrease in the yield of crushed ore, which exceeds the fractions required for the technology.

After the reconstruction of technological lines, there will be seven, of which two will remain in reserve, which will help stabilize the production and operational capabilities of the medium and fine crushing plant. At the same time, its total productivity will not exceed the design level and will amount to 15.5 million tons per year. The entire project for the reconstruction of the second section of the crushing plant is estimated at $ 8 million.

The presentation of the project, prepared for public hearings, shows both the main sources of influence on the atmospheric air during construction and installation works, as well as environmental protection measures due to which emissions will be minimized. The diagrams in the presentation indicate the distance from the building to the nearest residential area – 1,420 meters (with a norm of 300 m), a detailed analysis of the calculation of surface concentrations at control points, the characteristics of waste generated during the reconstruction, and other data are given.

According to this project, the impact on the aquatic environment, atmospheric air, geological environment, on the state of fauna, flora and biodiversity, land resources and soil is estimated within the permissible limits. For the rest of the factors that are determined by legislation, there is no influence.
