The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced record fuel reserves accumulated for the next heating season. The head of government said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 22. According to Shmygal, gas reserves in underground storage facilities amount to 21 billion cubic meters, a similar situation with existing coal reserves.
“We must calmly and comfortably go through the heating season,” the Prime Minister said. Shmyhal also clarified that 6 billion hryvnia had already been spent on preparations for the heating season, and by mid-summer the readiness of the housing stock is 50%.
