Steel production in 64 countries of the world that provide data to the World Steel Association in October 2020 increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2019, to 161.89 million tons, the organization said.
In January-October 2020, metal production fell by 2%, to 1.5 billion tons.
Russia last month, according to preliminary data from the association, increased steel production by 4.3% y /y terms, up to 6.05 million tons. Over 10 months of this year, steel production in Russia decreased by 0.8%, to 59.3 million tons.
