The cause of the explosion in Beirut could have been a missile strike or a bomb – Lebanese President

The cause of the most powerful explosion in Beirut could well have been a missile strike or a bomb, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Friday.

“We have not yet figured out the reason. There is a possibility that it was interference from the outside – by means of a missile or bomb strike, or something else,” the Al-Jazeera TV channel quoted him as saying.

Po According to the head of state, investigators are considering all possible versions, including this one.

A series of explosions took place on Tuesday in the port zone of the Lebanese capital. The blast wave destroyed a huge number of buildings, smashed glass and doors.

More than 130 people were reported dead and about 5 thousand injured in the disaster. 300 thousand citizens were left homeless.
