NKMZ has started assembling a two-carriage bridge ore grab for the Azovstal iron and steel works

Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Plant (NKMZ, Kramatorsk, Donetsk region) began assembling a bridge ore grab two-carriage reloader designed and manufactured for the Azovstal steel plant (Mariupol, Donetsk region).

According to the message on the site of the machine plant, in comparison with the cranes previously produced at NKMZ, this is the largest: the distance between the supports is 115 m, the total length of the beams is 185 m, the height is 49.7 m, and the weight is 2.4 thousand tons. .

Among the competitive advantages of this equipment, the plant notes high productivity – 800 t /h, which is provided by two clamshell bogies moving independently of each other, whereas previously NKMZ used only one bogie.

The start of installation of the reloader at Azovstal is planned at the end of this year, commissioning – at the end of next.

The cost of the equipment has not been specified.

In Ukraine, NKMZ manufactured, shipped and installed two coal grab cranes for the coal storage facilities of the Novosibirsk TPP (RF) and Azovstal, as well as one ore one for the ore yard of the Zaporizhstal steel plant.

NKMZ specializes in the production of rock, metallurgical, forging and pressing, hydraulic, mining, lifting and transport, specialized equipment, forgings and castings.

In 2020, NKMZ reduced its net income by 3% – to UAH 6.5 billion, net profit more than doubled – to UAH 1.44 billion, more than 73% of products were exported.

Azovstal Iron and Steel Works is part of the Metinvest group, in 2020 increased production of general rolled products by 2.7% compared to the previous year – up to 3.9 million tons, steel by 4.5% – up to 4.2 million tons, pig iron by 9.4% – up to 3.8 million tons.
