The National Bank of Ukraine has allowed clients with digital passports to open a bank account in the Action mobile application. “From now on, when opening a bank account remotely, citizens do not need to physically present an ID card or biometric passport if they have a digital passport or a digital passport for travel abroad in the Action mobile application,” the regulator explained. A digital passport is a digital analogue of paper documents in the Action mobile application.
Information is displayed electronically, which contains the ID-card and biometric passport of a citizen of Ukraine. In April, the Ukrainian government equated a “passport in a smartphone” with a paper document.
