The National Bank of Ukraine set the rate of 28 hryvnia 60 kopecks per US dollar on November 4, which is 2 kopecks more official course for today. Despite this decision of the regulator, in the interbank foreign exchange market, the hryvnia strengthened throughout almost the entire trading day. In the first minutes of trading, quotes reached 28 hryvnia 64.5-66 kopecks per dollar, but the session ended at 28 hryvnia 52-55 kopecks per unit of American currency, according to data from Finance.ua.
The experts of the website “Ministry of Finance” note that the main buyers of the currency began to appear on the market only in the middle of the session, and then it equalized supply and demand, but at the end of the trading day the hryvnia resumed strengthening. The exchange rate of 28.6 hryvnia per dollar is the lowest for the Ukrainian currency in the last 33 months – from the second half of January 2018.
