IMF released a memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund has published a memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine. According to the official translation, which was published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on the evening of June 11, the Ukrainian authorities, among other things, undertake to: ensure the financial stability of the pension system in the event of an increase in pension spending; implement health care reform by extending the new funding regime to secondary and specialized care; ensure the independence of the National Bank of Ukraine; get rid of state shares in state-owned banks; ensure the independence of the new anti-corruption institutions – NABU, SAP and VAKS; continue efforts in the energy sectors to avoid re-emergence of quasi-fiscal deficits, to increase competition, and to increase production in order to achieve energy independence; continue privatization; to strengthen the Antimonopoly Committee. On June 9, the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund approved an 18-month program of cooperation with Ukraine worth $ 5 billion.

Ukraine expects to receive the first tranche of $ 2.1 billion in June.
