During 11 months of 2020, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 16.72 million tons of rolled metal, which is 99.6% relative to the level of 2019.
Export was sent to 81.1% of metal products, which is equivalent to 13.55 million tons. For the same period in 2019, the share of exports was about 83.4%.
The share of semi-finished products in export deliveries for 11 months of 2020 is 51.01%, which is noticeably higher than the indicator for the period January-November 2019 (47.02%). The share of flat products in export deliveries for 11 months of 2020 is slightly lower than the indicator for the same period in 2019 (32.46% and 33.23%, respectively). The share of long products in export supplies for 11 months of 2020 is noticeably inferior to the indicator for the same period in 2019 (16.53% in 2020 versus 19.75% in 2019).
In January-November 2020, the capacity of the domestic market was 4296.0 thousand tons of rolled metal, of which 1130.0 thousand tons or 26.3% were imports. For the same period in 2019, the capacity of the domestic market was 4120.7 thousand tons, of which 1327.7 thousand tons or 32.2% were imported. Thus, for 11 months of 2020, there is an increase in the capacity of the domestic market relative to January-November 2019 by 4.3%, while the share of the import component has decreased by 5.9%.
The structure of imports for 11 months of 2020 is characterized by the domination of flat products over long products (56.28% and 42.55%, respectively); in the same period of 2019, the dominance of flat products over long products was somewhat more noticeable (56.15% and 40.92%, respectively).
The main export markets of Ukrainian metal products in January-November 2020 are the countries of the European Union (29.0%), Asia (15.0%) and the rest of Europe (14.1%).
Among metallurgical importers for 11 months of 2020, the CIS ranks first (37.1%), the second is the EU-28 (24.8%), and the third is the countries of Asia (21.1%).
