US imports of sheet steel decreased

According to final data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the United States imported about 31,100 tons of flat products by length (CTL) in May, down 42.7% from the previous month and also down 3.2% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, imports from Canada accounted for the largest share, amounting to approximately 16,000 tons, which is 15.3% less compared to the previous month, and an increase compared to the same period last year was 23.1%. South Korea is in second place with a volume of about 84,000 tons, followed by 2,900 tons from Sweden and 1,500 tons from Finland.

During this period, the value of imports was about US $ 34 million, down 29.6% from the previous month and up 44.4% year on year.
