According to the World Steel Association (worldsteel), in the first nine months of 2020, global crude steel production was approximately 1.3 billion tonnes, down 3.2% over the same period last year.
Including steel production in Asia reached about 100 million tons, an increase of 0.2% year on year. The EU produced about 99 million tonnes, down 17.9% from last year.
World crude steel production in September was about 156 million tonnes, up 2.9% from the same month last year.
Among them, China produced about 93 million tons, which is 10.9% more than last year. India had about 8.5 million tonnes and Japan about 6.5 million tonnes, down 2.9% and 19.3% year on year, respectively.
