Turkey maintains the eighth position in the ranking of world steel producers in June

The Turkish Iron and Steel Industry Association (TCUD) said that crude steel production in Turkey increased by 17.9% year on year to 3.4 million tonnes in June this year. Meanwhile, from January to June, Turkey’s crude steel production rose 20.6% from 19.7 million tonnes on an annualized basis, ranking eighth among the world’s crude steel producers.

TCUD predicts that the balance of production, consumption and foreign trade will gradually stabilize in the second half of this year. The Association also believes that the contribution of the Turkish steel industry to reducing the country’s current account deficit will increase by the end of this year.
