Prices for carbon steel in Europe are growing rapidly

Currently, the offer of galvanized steel from European plants exceeds 1100 euros per ton. Carbon steel prices continue to rise due to lack of supply, and buyers may stop purchasing and cut production.

European distributors noted that all major mills exceeded orders in the third quarter, and even the capacity quota for the fourth quarter was nearly exhausted.

Market participants believed that supply shortages, long delivery times, unreasonable prices, and the expansion of EU safeguards would lead to production cuts by downstream producers and could lead to massive layoffs.
