Prices for HRC in Europe continue to rise

Hot rolled steel (HRC) prices in the European market continued to rise, which was still affected by an acute supply shortage.

Currently, the projected third-quarter performance of the Nordic steel mills will be inadequate and earlier deliveries are expected before the end of the third quarter. In addition, local buyers also need to wait 3-4 quarters to receive imported HRCs.

Many factors, such as a lack of supply, longer delivery times and global price increases, continued to drive up HRC prices in the EU. Recently, domestic steel makers asked the EU to lift import safeguards as suppliers had complete control over pricing.
