ThyssenKrupp has made the final decision on the termination of the production of steel sheets. The company said it intends to permanently close its plate mill in Duisburg-Hüttenheim by the end of September 2021. However, it will only fulfill existing orders. ThyssenKrupp said that the plant in Hüttenheim has been losing money for many years and there is no optimistic outlook. He even tried to find a buyer, but still to no avail, and finally decided to close the plant.

The company said that 90% of the employees at the Hüttenheim plant will work at the other ThyssenKrupp Steel plants in Duisburg and also provided them with an early retirement plan.
