According to the report of the Indian rating agency CARE Ratings, crude steel production in India in July this year increased by almost 12% compared to the same month a year ago, and finished steel output increased by 10.6% year on year.
India’s steel production in July was 3% higher than in July 2019, that is, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, and finished steel production in July increased by 4% compared to July two years ago.
India’s steel production totaled 42.2 Mt from April to July 2021/22, up 62.3% from the previous year; Production of finished rolled products increased by 57.7% year-on-year to 35 million tonnes.
During this period, steel consumption in India amounted to 33.1 million tonnes, up 66.3% from a year earlier.
