World steel production for 11 months of 2020 is 1,670.40 million tons, which is 1.27% less than in January-November 2019 (1,691,850,000 tons).
The leader here is also the People’s Republic of China, smelted 961,160,000 tons, which is 5.50% more than in 11 months of 2019 (911,040,000 tons). The PRC’s share in world steel production is 57.5%.
Ukraine (18710,000 tons or 97.0% compared to January-November 2019) ranks 13th among 62 steel-producing countries.
Vietnam (26610,000 tons or 142.6% compared to the same period in 2019) rose to 10th place, moving Iran (26,370,000 tons or 112.8%) to 11th position.
The positions of other leading countries have not changed.
For 11 months of 2020, metallurgical enterprises of the countries of the world produced 126.301 million tons of pig iron, of which 1184640000 tons by the blast furnace method and 78370000 tons by the direct reduction method. This is 1.53% lower than the indicator for the same period in 2019 (1282660000 tons).
The first place belongs to the People’s Republic of China, whose metallurgists produced 812.90 million tons of pig iron in January-November 2020, which is 4.17% more than in 11 months of 2019 (780.360,000 tons). The share of Chinese pig iron in world production for 11 months of 2020 is 64.4%.
Ukraine (18,590,000 tons or 100.7% relative to January-November 2019) ranks 9th among 40 countries that produce pig iron.
