Canada introduces a tax on the import of thick plates from Taiwan, Germany and Turkey

The Canadian Border Guard Agency has issued a preliminary decision to dump certain hot rolled carbon steel plates and heavy low alloy steel plates originating from or exported from the Taiwan Separate Customs Territory, Penghu, Jinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), Germany and Turkey. Temporary duties will now be paid on goods from Chinese Taipei, Germany and Turkey that were cleared from customs on or after October 9, 2020.

On the same day, CBSA closed its dumping investigation into the aforementioned goods originating from or exported from South Korea and Malaysia.
