EUROFER calls for more measures to protect the steel market

The European Steel Association (EUROFER) believes that existing steel protection measures should be expanded as the preconditions that pushed the EU to take steel protection measures still exist, such as trade protectionism from other countries, global redundancies steel production facilities, US Section 232 duties on steel and aluminum, which caused a flood of steel products in the EU market.

According to EUROFER, the EU steel market is facing a severe recession in 2020. Orders have not returned to pre-epidemic levels, from which only the auto industry recovered strongly in the fourth quarter of last year.

EUROFER predicts that the EU steel market will continue to face uncertainty until the second half of this year.
