Hryvnia won back one-day losses on the interbank market

The National Bank of Ukraine, following the results of trading on the Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market, set the rate of 26 hryvnia 91 kopecks per dollar on May 29, having strengthened the national currency by 9 kopecks. A day earlier, for the first time in a month, the regulator set the official exchange rate at exactly 27 hryvnia. According to, trading on the interbank market ended at the level of 26 hryvnia, 90-93 kopecks per dollar.

For most of the session, the quotes were even lower, UAH 26 89-91 per dollar, the NBU did not allow the NBU to fall below the US currency, buying the excess supply into its reserves, experts of the Ministry of Finance website point out.
