The National Bank of Ukraine set the rate of 28 hryvnia 21 kopecks per US dollar on October 12. This is 19 kopecks less than the maximum value for the last two years, recorded on October 6. On the Ukrainian interbank foreign exchange market, the trading situation on October 9 was optimistic for the hryvnia only in the first part of the session, when the national currency increased to 28 hryvnias, 18-20 kopecks per dollar.
In the second half of the day, the demand for the dollar began to exceed the supply, and, according to Finance.ua, the trading ended at the level of 28 hryvnia 23.5-25 kopecks per unit of the American currency. Despite gains this week, the hryvnia is still close to its lowest level this year. About two months ago, on August 17, trading ended at a hryvnia lower – at the level of 27 hryvnia 23.5-25.5 kopecks per dollar.
