The hryvnia demonstrates stability after the resignation of the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smoliy, according to data on the NBU website. As of 12:00, the reference value of the hryvnia against the dollar remains at the level of 27 hryvnia 17 kopecks. On the evening of July 1, the chairman of the National Bank, Yakov Smoliy, wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will for “systematic political pressure.”
The President’s Office assured that the National Bank will remain an independent body. The next day, the dollar went up by 41 kopecks, and the euro by 66, but subsequently the rate stabilized. On July 3, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Smoliy.
