The European Parliament decided to suspend investment negotiations with China

According to market news on May 20, the European Parliament voted to suspend all negotiations on an investment deal with China, which was interpreted as a response to China’s retaliatory sanctions in March.

Although this result does not have the exact legal right to influence the deal, the final investment deal still needs to be approved by the European Parliament, which also indicates that there are some barriers between the EU-China relationship.
